NURS 4115 - Professional Nurse as Leader/Designer/Manager/Coordinator

A course which reviews specific principles of leadership and management as they relate to health care delivery and to specific nursing roles. This course expands the evidence-based knowledge of nurse leader/designer/manager concepts for the Associate degree prepared students. The course is designed for the student that is progressively developing into competent status and provides opportunity to observe and practice these concepts in the clinical setting as a coordinator of care. Concepts discussed include, but are not limited to, human resource management, self- care, high quality and safe patient care, group and organizational dynamics, communications and fiscal management incorporating an introduction to Lean Six Sigma principles.
